my potential demise.

I just finished uploading pictures of a power plant. Yesterday I uploaded pictures of aircraft. A few weeks before that, a major transcontinental railroad route. And of course pictures of the Dubai and Sharjah desert are the first in the account, proof I've visited Arab countries.

I should probably take pictures of a wider variety of things, so I don't end up in the bad part of Cuba.

LOL!

(Though something tells me it's not entirely funny)

It's all fun and games until you realize the handcuffs are real.

You liked the handcuffs!

At least you didn't need to answer all the questions. Lucky. My problem was I couldn't stop laughing at them.

I once had the bomb squad cordon off the area around the railway station in Leeds while they shotgunned out the "control mechanism" in a parcel of Christmas presents my wife and I had sent to my sister at her place of work. My sister had been evacuated and the bomb squad were unable to reach her to ask her if the parcel was expected. They managed to contact me though, and I told them we had sent such a parcel. They shot it anyway - I figure once those guys get called out, they aren't going home without blowing something up.

That, and another fictional bomb-related incident in London (fictional bomb - non-fictional incident, also involving evacuation, of a pub this time) just after the IRA really did bomb Canary Wharf, and I'm pretty sure there's a correlation engine somewhere just waiting to get me some unexpected anal airport action sometime soon...

Not so keen on flying through US airspace these days.

Can we talk about pebble-bed nuclear reactors, and radioactive waste disposal, not for the purposes of weaponized dirty bombs, but for use in the major metropolitan cities of the United States? After all, if they're supposed to be safe, why not put them in the heart of them rather than ruin wildlife preserves by continuing to use fossil fuels, like coal which contains trace amounts of uranium and tholium which will set off a geiger counter at a plant, more than it would at a nuclear facility.

How much longer can you -not- be on the no-fly list? :)

I'm thinking that if we build more nukes, they might as well be pebble-bed, and they might as well be located smack in the middle of military bases. It's a security no-brainer -- plus the bases each get a giant UPS!

Did I ever tell you the time I tried to fly out of NYC in late September 2001, hung over from at least two intoxicants, unshaven ('cept the head), bleary-eyed, and squinting in a maddened way at everything because I'd lost my contact lenses at a very odd party the night before, and when they opened my luggage they found two books: WAR and A HISTORY OF THE ARAB PEOPLES?

Had to take the next flight. Sigh. Good times.

You're already in DHS files as "Suspected al-Queda IM expert, Ad Am."

Like that old Mercedes with "IED" written in the dirt on the windshield?
